Monday 25 June
- The Mutuals Taskforce’s report ‘Public Service Mutuals: The Next Steps’ was published highlighting the progress being made across the mutuals agenda and making a series of recommendations to move it forward. - Rosie Bristow, writing for The Guardian Professional Sustainable Business Blog, talked about Exploring the Impact of Business on Society.
Tuesday 26 June
- David Hunter, writing for The Guardian Professional Social Enterprise Network, posted Whisper it, but is Social Finance the new PFI [Private Finance Initiative]? Countries are looking to Britain’s social investment initiatives as a way of improving public services.
- Greg Hills and Mark Pfitzer wrote for The Guardian Professional Sustainable Business Blog on Measuring the Impact of Shared Value
Wednesday 27 June
- Anita Pati, writing for The Guardian Professional Social Enterprise Network, on Co-operatives: Outperforming the Competition. This explained Co-operatives UK’s report which stated that for the “fourth consecutive year, co-operatives are performing better than private equity driven businesses.”
Thursday 28 June
- Joseph Rowntree Foundation published a report on Public Sector Innovation and Local Leadership in the UK and Netherlands. One of the main points was leaders in promoting social inclusion and public service innovation
- The National Council for Voluntary Organizations (NCVO) made a presentation about the Public Services (Social Value) Act. The act will try to enable social enterprises to win more public sector contracts.
Friday 29 June
- Social Enterprise Live – Big Issue Invest and TSELF, two of the UK’s leading social investors, join forces: “As TSELF and Big Issue Invest are social enterprises ourselves this has allowed us to reinvest even more into the sector rather than pay out”
- The Guardian Professional’s Andrew Bibby explained The Different Brands of British Co-operatives.
